Sarah Totora will collaborate with Simpatico Theatre Project (Philadelphia) on its upcoming production of Kirsten Greenidge's Milk Like Sugar. Sarah will provide the production with dramaturgical research and feedback. Additionally, she will work to strengthen the company’s audience engagement and extend the impact of its community outreach efforts. Beyond this production, Sarah will support Simpatico's continued artistic growth and commitment to developing new plays for the remainder of the season.

Carlyn Aquiline will be working with The Microscopic Opera Company, based in Pittsburgh, PA, on the development and world premiere production of Mercy Train, a new chamber opera for young audiences, by composer Douglas Levine and librettist Julie Tosh. Carlyn’s primary goal will be to collaborate on story and libretto development and revision through the world premiere production in June 2015. She will also provide production dramaturgy for the stage director and cast, and support the production with a range of audience enrichment and education resources and activities. The Microscopic Opera Company creates innovative, thoughtful and cutting edge performances of contemporary chamber opera, featuring professional artists in the Pittsburgh area. A longer term aim of this project is to open the door to collaborations with dramaturgs on future projects. The potentials of dramaturgy are clear for a company that engages in the writing and creation of new chamber opera, in innovative and contemporary staging and storytelling in non-traditional spaces, and in repositioning the relationship of artist to audience by creating opera up close.
