Director of Education

Center Stage is seeking a Director of Education. The position is responsible for oversight of all education programs for young people and families and for managing an Education staff including an Education Coordinator and a seasonal intern.

• Oversee Center Stage's educational efforts and relationships with school systems and higher educational institutions
• Manage Education Coordinator’s work in developing show-based curricula including study guides and on-line educational resources
• Develop and curate new Family Series, booking-in productions aimed to appeal to 3 to 9-year-olds
• Oversee a robust Student Matinee program
• Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate roster of Teaching Artists
• Oversee, manage, help promote, and serve as leader of Center Stage educational camps
• With Education Coordinator and Teaching Artists develop and manage high school age after-school program, leading to the development of a ‘Baltimore Center Stage Youth Theater’
• Develop and oversee professional development programs for educators
• Oversee Education Department budget
• Co-Produce “Backstage at Center Stage” with Community Programs Coordinator
• Serve as liaison to Center Stage's Education Committee, participate in organizational strategic planning, and report on education program efforts at Board meetings
• Work closely with Community Programs Coordinator
• Participate in Cabinet level discussions
