Description
The Peoples Improv Theater is currently seeking a Staff Producer to join the Artistic Team. The Staff Producer would be in charge of producing in-house and independent programming in our Global Comedy Studios spaces (PIT Lab and Fishbowl) while also collaborating with the Artistic Director on flagship programming, festivals, house teams and other various projects.
Duties:
- Collaborating with the Artistic Director to pursue the development of productions that correspond with the PIT’s mission
- Spearheads quarterly festivals including the managing of production needs and liaising of performers/teams in collaboration with the Education and Corporate Departments
- Works directly with the Director of Education to curate showcases for students and support the SNL Scholarship Program
- Manages regular communication with producers including but not limited to: administering contacts, obtaining marketing assets, facilitating primetime show nights, rehearsal scheduling, payouts and production logistics.
- Creates in-house programming geared towards current and graduating students to build and maintain relationships with PIT community members.
Preferred Qualities:
- a self-starter and enthusiastic about producing;
- embedded in the NYC comedy scene;
- able to juggle multiple projects independently with a level-head;
- Strong leadership abilities with a collaborative approach
- excellent organizational and communication skills;
- Strong proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive);
- Salesforce & PatronManager experience;
- Experience in WordPress;
- Comfort working evenings/weekends during performance hours
- a good sense of humor. Please have a good sense of humor. It’s basically a requirement.
Compensation
- Part-time (15 hours per week)
- $17.00 per hour
