Biography
Over more than a decade, I have practiced dramaturgy across Egypt, Tunisia, the UAE, the UK, and the United States, working as writer, director, creator, performer, collaborator, and consultant. I have directed productions at Steppenwolf Theatre, Stratford East London, Collaboraction, Silk Road Rising, and Backstitch Story Arts, among others, while contributing dramaturgically to work at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, the Graham Foundation, and SAIC. I have also served as a cultural consultant at Steppenwolf on productions including POTUS, Bald Sisters, and Mosque4Mosque, where my role was precisely to interrogate questions of representation, authenticity, and cultural specificity at the highest institutional level.
