Caroline Jane Davis (she/her) is a director, dramaturg, and educator. A passionate advocate for emerging voices, she works closely with playwrights and ensembles to develop new work with an emphasis on queer and feminist dramaturgies. Professionally positioned at the intersection of contemporary play development and historical performance studies, much of her work begins in conversation with the archive: recasting literary icons, queering familiar plots, and challenging the assumptions embedded in canonical works.

Caroline currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts and Education at Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to her academic role, she holds positions on the Executive Committee of the Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC), the Artistic Advisory Council of the South Carolina Children’s Theatre, the Mosaic Educational and Arts Program Board of Directors, and the Editorial Board of Southern Theatre magazine. She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Furman University and an M.F.A. in Performance and Pedagogy from Texas Tech University.
