Lisa S. Brenner is a professor of theatre arts at Drew University, where she received the President's Award for Distinguished Teaching. She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from Columbia University. She is the co-editor of Applied Theatre with Youth and Applied Theatre & Gender Justice (Routledge); Represent! New Plays for Multicultural Youth (Methuen); Katrina on Stage: 5 Plays (Northwestern University Press). Brenner has published in The New York Times, Theatre Topics, Transformations, Praxis, Theatre Survey, and Theatre Annual. She is also a founding member of the dramaturgy collective, A Stage of Their Own, and is a freelance dramaturg.
