I’m a Los Angeles based writer, director, and consultant on performance, narrative, and story development for theatre, film, television, and non-entertainment enterprises. In theatre, I’ve primarily worked in new play development and as a production dramaturg. I've done much, and various, freelance work, but my theatre life has largely been oriented around four institutions. From 2005 through 2024, I was first Resident Dramaturg then Literary Director of the Ojai Playwrights Conference. From 1994 through 2009, I worked regularly for L.A.’s Center Theatre Group, serving as a dramaturg and member of the play selection committee for the Mark Taper Forum’s New Works Festival and writing some sixty program essays, guides, and other support materials for CTG productions. Before I moved to Los Angeles, I was Literary Manager/Dramaturg at two now defunct off-Broadway companies, The American Place Theatre and WPA Theatre.
