Dr. Gwendolyn Alker is an Associate Arts Professor in the Department of Drama at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, where she specializes in gender & performance, embodiment and Latine theatre. She is the former editor of Theatre Topics, former managing editor of Women & Performance: A Journal of Feminist Theory and is widely known as a national expert on the work of María Irene Fornés whose biography she is currently completing. As a scholar, dramaturg, editor and teacher, she has worked on shows at The Public Theater, La MaMa Etc., the Strasberg Institute, and been on the faculty at Naropa University, Gallatin and Princeton University.
