Biography
Gwen has over 35 years of leadership experience developing the revenue and program impacts of nonprofit organizations, and a lifetime of experience in new script development working as an actress, director, and/or dramaturg. In 2023, Gwen founded World Builders Incubator (WBI), a narrative change nonprofit focused on speeding the pace of social and environmental action. WBI brings thought leaders and artists together for the development of solutions focused stories in all mediums and genres.

Since founding WBI, Gwen has built a coalition of over 100 members, and been the primary WBI dramaturg for 7 solutions-focused projects: 1 play, 1 musical, 2 TV/streaming pilots, 1 screenplay, and 2 books. These projects were developed and completed during the 2-year beta test of WBI’s development process, the Story Arc. The projects incorporate informed solutions for a diverse range of issues, including: climate change, immigration, mental health care, patriarchy, disinformation, and financial oppression.

Gwen has been a core company member with PlayGround, a new play development organization, for 25 years, where she has helped develop innumerable plays and writers. She is also a former Board member and frequent actor/collaborator with the nationally celebrated Bay Area Playwrights Festival.

In addition to her work as a dramaturg and nonprofit executive, Ms. Loeb is an award-winning Equity actress. She has performed with major companies throughout the Bay Area, including American Conservatory Theater, Theatre Works, Aurora Theater Company, Marin Theater Company, SPARC Theater, Shotgun Players, SF Playhouse, and San Francisco Shakespeare Festival. Gwen has developed roles for many renowned writers, including Liz Duffy Adams, Lisa Krohn, Marcus Gardley, and Larissa Fasthorse.
