Biography
As a production dramaturg and scholar, Catherine (Cate) Heiner focuses on minoritarian performance, theories of affect, and the uses of empathy. She has worked on a variety of productions, and predominantly specializes in contemporary American theatre and new work. She has published work in Theatre Journal, The Journal of American Drama and Theatre, and Theatre Topics, and freelances as she is available. Her credits include productions of The Wolves (Salt Lake Acting Company/MTSU Dept. of Thea.), The Oresteia (adapted by Ellen McLaughlin, UW School of Drama), Our Town (MTSU Dept. of Thea.), and the world premiere of An Evening with Two Awful Men (Plan-B Theatre Company).
