Biography
Danielle Ward (she/her) loves the learning opportunities that each project brings. During her decade as Literary Manager at San Diego Repertory Theatre, she worked as a dramaturg on world premieres such as Svich’s "In the Time of the Butterflies," Siguenza’s "Steal Heaven," Zacarias’ "Into the Beautiful North," and Siguenza/Grossman’s interactive play "Beachtown." Additionally, she researched and wrote playbill articles and dramaturgical displays as well as edited an audience engagement e-magazine called “The Curious REPort” for each show in the season. Danielle also thrives as a midwife for diverse new work, enjoying the collaborative process with writers like Idris Goodwin, Giovanni Ortega, and Jason Grasl. She has also served on the selection committee for various playwrighting festival/fellowship panels.

After studying Theater Arts at UC Irvine, with an emphasis on playwriting, she followed up with an MFA in Creative Writing from Eastern Washington University. She previously worked as a Reading Coordinator at the Mark Taper Forum and Assistant to the Head of the Story Department at DreamWorks SKG. As a queer woman, a military spouse, and a mother, Danielle is dedicated to uplifting a multitude of voices through theatre. She is now available to work as a freelance dramaturg and/or new work midwife.
