Biography
Marissa Friedman is a dramaturg, writer, editor, and educator.

She is currently the Marketing and Communications Manager at the Art, Culture, and Technology program at MIT (ACT), as well as affiliated faculty at Emerson College and a freelance dramaturg.

Previously, Marissa served as the Project Coordinator and Executive Assistant at ArtsBoston, the Community Engagement Coordinator at Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, and held residencies at Long Wharf Theatre, the Atlantic Theater Company, Westport Country Playhouse, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival.

Marissa graduated with an MFA in Dramaturgy and Theater Studies from the American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater (A.R.T/MXAT) Institute for Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University, and received her BA in Historical Studies from Bard College. While at the A.R.T/MXAT Institute, she dramaturged the world premiere productions of Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews’ Witness Uganda, directed by Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus, and David Adjmi’s Marie Antoinette, directed by Tony Award-winner Rebecca Taichman. Outside of work, Marissa enjoys crime novels, the Great British Bake Off, and the Boston Bruins.
