Emilia LaPenta is a creative producer, dramaturg, and arts leader with a background in theater and audio and a passion for championing bold, innovative voices. In 2017, she brought her skills as a dramaturg and producer in the regional theater to Audible, where she established and led creative development and production for the Audible Theater Emerging Playwrights Fund. From 2017-2024 the Fund commissioned 50 playwrights from the US, UK, and Berlin and released 31 commissioned plays on Audible.com. Also at Audible, Emilia produced the audio versions of John Lithgow’s Stories by Heart, John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons, David Hare's Beat the Devil, and Sharon Washington’s Feeding the Dragon. Previously, Emilia was the Literary Director at McCarter Theatre and the Producing Director of #theaternow, a collaboration with director/multimedia artist Tommy Butler devoted to offering creative leadership opportunities to early career artists.
