ANDREA KOVICH is a Seattle-based dramaturg and writer. As a disabled theatre maker, she’s passionate about collaborating with historically marginalized voices to uplift underrepresented narratives and further efforts for accessibility and inclusion. Past projects include production dramaturgy, script reading for several new play festivals, curating a staged reading series focused on Deaf and Disabled playwrights, and script consultation/ new work development. A frequent collaborator with Sound Theatre Company, she also serves as Board chair for Sound Theatre, and has written several articles on disability and inclusion in theatre. She’s also currently on the creative team for an inclusive new musical, The Other Side (working title). By day, she works as Senior Accessibility Specialist for a small firm that specializes in consulting on accessible and inclusive design in the built environment.
Disability representation and culture
Past projects include production dramaturgy for Book-It Repertory Theatre, Taproot Theatre Company, and Sound Theatre Company. Other projects include curating a staged reading series focused on Deaf and Disabled playwrights and new work development for Umbrella Project and The Scratch.
