What is a panelist?  Someone who evaluates grant proposals and takes part in the adjudication of a recipient.                                 Why be a panelist?

  • You get to witness what's happening in the field.
  • You get to observe how others are writing about it.
  • You get to understand the process for entering/evaluating a grant proposal.
  • You get to effect the process, and therefore impact the field.

You are qualified.  You can always apply for a grant or award that you are not reading proposals for; you must choose between either reading or applying for a particular grant/award process. Let us know at awards@lmda.org if you're interested in participating sometime by sending a paragraph describing your experience or your interest in volunteering.
