Biography
Robert Menna has worked as a playwright, director, dramaturg, and script analyst on well over 100 plays and screenplays. His plays include a commission from the Denver Center to adapt Newbery Award-winner Avi’s THE END OF THE BEGINNING as a touring production for schools and his play Joy! represented the United States at the World Festival of Children’s Theatre, as well as WHEN WE WERE HEROES, SPOILED, THE LIGHT AT ARLES, TITANIC: LIVE! and SCARY WHISPERS, TINY BITES.

Previously, Robert Menna served as co-Artistic Director of the Ojai Playwrights Conference and Dramaturg/Literary Manager at Seattle’s Intiman Theatre. He founded and directed the Seattle Playwrights Alliance as well as the Milken Playwriting Prize for plays written for teens to perform, with large casts and a majority of female roles. As an educator, Menna co-directed the Denver Center's "Living History" program, which immersively linked theatre, history, ethics and literature for over 10,000 high school students annually.
