Biography
Lydia K. Valentine is a Washington State dramaturg, director, writer and educator. She served as dramaturg for the Toy Boat Theatre and University of Washington - Tacoma productions of Clybourne Park, Water by the Spoonful, and 365 Days/365 Plays. She of the resident dramaturg for empathos company and has worked on several projects with Pork Filled Productions, both champions for diverse and oft underrepresented voices. She served as the AD and Lead Dramaturg and adapted the script of Ibsen's A Doll's House for Tacoma Little Theatre's 100th Season. She is a founding member of RiseUP! Theatre Coalition, an organization dedicated to advocating and being a resource for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color who identify as theatre practitioners, makers, and educators, with a mission to amplify anti-racism and inclusion, confront tokenism and alienation, and create a safe and thriving community for performing artists in the South Puget Sound.
