David A. McTier retired in 2022 after serving 30+ years as a theatre professor and department chair. He holds a Ph.D. in theatre history and criticism from the University of Texas, where he was a student of the late Oscar Brockett. Before retiring, he also freelanced as a production dramaturg and director in the Houston area. Dr. McTier is a two-time Fulbright Scholar (Romania 2016-2017, Kosovo 2012) and a consummate world traveler. He now lives as an expat in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
