Biography
Leah Holder is an actor, director, dramaturg, playwright, and educator based in Toronto, ON. As a director/ dramaturg she predominantly works in the creation of new text-based work, and is well known for her uplifting, and continually positive notes to playwrights.
Leah also has years of experience in site-specific and found space pieces. As an actor she has been featured in work with Theatre By The Bay, Notable Acts Theatre Festival, Thought for Food, Single Thread, Soup Can, and others. As an educator she teaches workshops on theatre creation, dialect and voice, and is also an Artist Educator with Young People’s Theatre. She is the playwright and lead actor of the sold-out production of Mary of Shanty Bay (TBTB). She is the winner of an RBC Emerging Artist Grant (TBTB 2016), is a graduate of George Brown Theatre School, and is originally from New Brunswick. Leah is currently the Company Dramaturg with Theatre by the Bay in Barrie, ON.
