Sophia Crabbe (They/She) is a theatre artist and researcher from Mohkinstsis (“Calgary”). They are interested in applied/devised theatre, performance, directing, and dramaturgy. Sophia holds a BA Honours from the University of Victoria in Theatre History and they are a graduate of the Performing and Visual Arts program at Central Memorial High School (Drama). During they’re time at UVic, Sophia created the Instagram page Bad Theatre History Memes (@theatrehistoryshitposting) to express they’re love of theatre history, and to excite their classmates about the field. Sophia was a 2020/2021 recipient of the Jamie Cassels Research Award (JCURA) for their research on Team Starkid and Accessible Theatre, supervised by Dr. Sasha Kovacs. Since graduating in June 2022, Sophia has continued to pursue theatrical education through the Company of Rogues, where they are exploring scene study, voice and movement, and the Meisner technique as they prepare to return to UVic in pursuit of a masters of applied theatre. Currently, they are planning to enter the world of alternative drag with their clown drag persona Antonine Art Hoe.
