Biography
A freelance dramaturg, director, and playwright based in Denver, Colorado. I specialize in new work, and have most recently been working as dramaturg for Empathy Theatre Project to help develop their newest musical, “We’re Still Here.” Before 2023, I was based in New England, where I directed and produced for Burbage Theatre Company, developed new work for PVD Fringe, directed for the University of Rhode Island, and served as the 2019 season dramaturg for Gloucester Stage Company, where I also worked with playwrights to direct staged readings of new work, all as part of my directing apprenticeship. In 2018, I was awarded a grant to research, write, design, direct, and produce an original play, “Daughters of Lavinia,” based on the stories of the luminaries of the U.S. Women’s Suffrage Movement and inspired by techniques used in Bertolt Brecht’s Epic Theatre genre. I am a student of history and research, a devotee of crisp and effective dramatic form, and I understand the deftness—kindness, really—required to make incisive edits to someone else's work.
