Biography
Currently an MFA candidate at The New School (Contemporary Theatre and Performance), Allison is a highly trained interdisciplinary theatre artist. Her skills range from classical analysis of Shakespeare's folios, to Lecoq movement and devising techniques. She has been a theatre performer and creator for over 20 years. She has studied Commedia Dell'arte at Dell'arte International, performed and analyzed the work of Tennessee Williams in Tennessee, and has researched and written on the topics of occultism and folklore in theatre ( everything from Shakespeare's witches to Ty Defoe's interpretation of Nanabush). Her current interests lie in aiding playwrites and directors tell their stores as both a production and a development dramaturg, editor, and educator. Current projects include Carol of The Bells by Nevada Lozano ( Workshop/Development Dramaturg) and Zero Hour by Tea Alagic (Development/Production Dramaturg and Editor). She hopes to continue working as a dramaturg in the New York area (and outward!) and looks forward to exploring careers in higher education and literary management.
