Grew up in a Jewish-Italian working class Bronx neighborhood. Thirty-year career as an ethnographer followed by twenty years of acting and dramaturgy. Professor Emeritus of Anthropology, UCLA; Licensed Marriage, Family & Child Counselor (retired).
