Avi Klipfel (they/them) is a dramaturg specializing in new work development, dance-theater, and Shakespeare. They are particularly interested in consensual audience participation, verbatim text, and the bounds of theater and dance mediums. They are a founding member and company manager of The 46 Minutes Collective, a non-hierarchical performance collective committed to producing boldly original, interdisciplinary time-based work and bolstering emerging artists in their pursuit to push the limits of form, challenge the purity of medium, and foster collaborative processes. Recent work includes New Dramatists Playtime (stage manager), The DECAGON Project at IndyFringe Festival (dramaturg, production manager), Twelfth Night in Riverside Park (dramaturg), Kill The Beast at The Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival (director), and Ari + Dee at Vino Theater (dramaturg). Currently, they are in development for Symposium at Kaatsbaan (dramaturg), Apatheia (dramaturg), True Crime (dramaturg, stage manager), and The Dracula Files (dramaturg). They have worked with The Public Theater, New Dramatists, One Year Lease Theater Company, The Hangar Theater, The Gamm Theater, and more.
