ARTISTIC AND LITERARY OFFICE COORDINATOR, Steppenwolf Theatre Company

Chicago, ILSteppenwolf Theatre Company is seeking candidates for the part-time (28 hours/week) position of Artistic and Literary Office Coordinator. This position will report to the Director of New Play Development and will assist the artistic staff, including the Artistic Producers, Casting Director, and Director of New Play Development.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven organizational skills and fine attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Google Calendar
  • Steppenwolf gives preference to candidates who have demonstrable experience advocating for equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Ability and commitment to working with diverse groups in terms of gender expression, race, sexual orientation, religion, ability, age, class, and immigrant status
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects with various priorities and deadlines
  • General knowledge of theatre practices and procedures, and an interest in new work

Responsibilities include (but aren’t limited to):

  • Submit and track departmental expenditures, purchase orders, credit cards, accounts, and process artistic office payments
  • Manage the new play database and script cycle
  • Schedule the post show discussion facilitators
  • Coordinate, schedule, and attend weekly artistic office meetings
  • Collect, manage, and distribute bios and headshots for programs, website and marketing needs
  • Administrative support for School at Steppenwolf applications, auditions, and tuition payments
  • Manage the Steppenwolf Script Library, Archive, and the monthly staff reading group, The Pack
  • Additional artistic, literary, and casting administrative tasks as determined by supervisor

Compensation: This position is hourly and will range from $13-15/hr commensurate with qualification and experience.
