BUILD from Here: the future of ensemble theater
– a digital convening (September 12th & 13th, 2020)

LMDA & foolsFURY ARE SEEKING DRAMATURGS to connect with ensemble theater artists for BUILD from Here – an invigorating, think-tank-style convening of conversations & workshops centered on our theater industry in this COVID-19 world. As a highlight of the program, ensemble theater companies will present 5-minute Art Shares to introduce the work they would have performed at the postponed FURY Factory Festival of Ensemble and Devised Theater, the state of their practice now, and their plans for the future.

WHAT’S THE GIG? We’ll match you with an artist/company and you will:

  • Engage in a 60-min conversation with them, serving as outside eye in crafting their 5-min Art Share presentation
  • Create a Word Cloud – a simple, visual reflection on the artists and their work to be shared with the audience at the end of the Art Share

PERKS? Dramaturgs will receive:

WHO’S THIS FOR? Rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area but international in scope, BUILD will bring together diverse artists & activists from around the U.S. and beyond. Dramaturgs of any age, gender, orientation, race, and geography are welcome to participate in this unique gathering.

INTERESTED? By August 14th, e-mail Emily DeDakis (LMDA Dramaturgy Facilitator) at emily@accidentaltheatre.co.uk:

  1. A couple of sentences about what draws you to this gig
  2. Your resume (to help us match you with a company)

QUESTIONS? E-mail Emily.
